OMSI Sub Tour

OMSI is home to the U.S. Navy's last non-nuclear, fast-attack submarine, the USS Blueback (SS-581). This sub was also used in the filming of the movie, The Hunt for Red October.

The torpedo room. Although, somewhat dangerous, they say this was the favored place to sleep. As it was cool, quiet and had the most space.
Kaden testing out the bunk beds. There weren't enough beds on the sub for all the crew, so they had to share. While the night shift was on duty, the other men would sleep and when they'd get up in the morning, the night shift crew would hop into their beds...and they would still be warm from the previous body. This was called "hot boxing." Also, an interesting fact about the green and blue "kool-aid" on board the sub: They said when they diluted it with water, they drank it, but they also used it undiluted as a cleaning agent. That doesn't sound like the type of thing I'd like to drink.

Every time one talks about OMSI, Versii always talks about seeing the "robot" --The big yellow thing on the right is what he's talking about.
Sweet little Paxton stayed home with Grandma. He's not old enough to go on the sub tour.

My First T-Shirt Quilt

I made my first T-shirt quilt for a friend's baby girl.
I cut the squares from old t-shirts. Being my first quilt, I learned a few things and it took a lot longer to make it then it should have, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Snow Day - February 24th
It doesn't take much snow in Oregon to cancel school for the day!
And the boys took full advantage playing outside.
