Labor Day at Mt Hood

September 5th, 2022

We drove up to Rhododendron to spend the day visiting our friends, the Schreiners.

We always love the opportunity to see them!

We ate lunch together and then all drove up to Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood.

It was a gorgeous day and the perfect weather.

We rode the ski lifts for the first time. It was the last day they were running them, until winter when they'll open back up for ski season.

After we came down the mountain, the guys picked up pizzas and we relaxed outside.

Our friends just finished adding a beautiful addition of living quarters to their A-Frame cabin, where they live full-time. They're big into skiing, so they love living at the base of the mountain.

My 43rd Birthday!

Celebrating my 43rd Birthday!

Beautiful cards from my family, surprise birthday call from Kaden, treated to lunch by my dear friend, Annalei, picking up dessert from Pix Patisserie, take out for dinner (I let Paxton choose 5 Guys), surprise birthday deliveries, taking selfies, reading messages from family and friends... these are just some of the wonderful moments of my day!

It was such a fun surprise to get a call from Kaden, I hadn't realized they get to call their immediate family on birthdays. Such an amazing gift, not only to talk to Kaden, but the technology that allows me to see him when he's so far away.

My cousin Nan sent me these fun shakers for powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar and these cute dish towels. And thanks to Mom and Dad for my birthday money and Julie for a gift card to a place I shop way to much LOL (Amazon).

I figured I needed at least one photo with Josh on my birthday, he was sick, so I was making him quarantine in the bedroom.

Back to School 2022

The boys on their first day of school.

Versii is a high school sophomore and Paxton is an 8th grader (last year of middle school.)

This is their very first year starting school before my birthday.

In the NW, historically, we have always started school the day after Labor day and then last year they changed and started the end of August. The boys didn't think it was right to start so early.
