March 20 -
We went to the Great Train Expo. The add promised hundreds of model trains, lots of fun for the kids and an all around great time. To start: The keys were locked in the car, along with our cell phones, wallets and diaper bag! I won't bore you with the details of how, but at any rate, when the staff at the Expo couldn't help, even though the place was crawling with cops (Due to the gun show also going on that day.) Josh decided to break in!
It all worked out, since when we bought the car, the back window was tinted and they gave us a regular window to replace it with. Which just happened to still be in the trunk. And with the help of our car kit, Josh was able to replace the window, right there in the parking lot. What a handy hubby I have.
Here are the boys, making the most of the situation, playing and snacking!
When we got inside, we soon realized it wasn't really that great of an event for the kids. It was almost entirely just booths to buy model trains and they only had about 5 trains set up. The highlight, of course, being Thomas the Train.
...And the kid-fun, well, it was a few bouncy houses and the funny train pictured below. It was basically a riding lawnmower and some trailers built up with plywood to look like a train. Josh and I thought it was pretty hoke, but the kids did love it!
Coming home and admiring the new spring blossoms was actually the highlight of the day, for me at least!
