My Utah Trip

September 10th, 2022
The smoke-filled sky from all the nearby wild fires the day I flew out to Utah.
I flew to Utah on Grandma Black's 97th Birthday, so I could be there to celebrate with her!
My cousins came over and we celebrated in Grandma's back yard with KFC and cake.
It was lovely weather and we all enjoyed hanging out with Grandma.

I knew when I went to Utah that I wanted a great acai bowl.
Brenda and I discovered the Protein Foundry and then proceeded to go there almost every morning while we were in town.  She would get fancy toast and a protein drink and I loved their acai bowl with bananas, raspberries, dark chocolate chunks and crunchy granola.  It's amazing!  I could literally eat that every day and not get tired of it, the price maybe? But definitely not the food.  So delicious!
Seriously one of my favorite finds on my trip.

Brenda, Aunt Gail, and I (And sometimes Mom and Julie) also spent so much time shopping.
Mostly from thrift and resale shops, but we shopped at a few others stores too.
This is what the trunk looked like after most of our shopping days.
I found some of the cutest dresses at Uptown Cheapskate.
I am in love with all the dresses I found.
Facetiming with the boys back home.

Mom told us that we needed to try some eclairs, from Eclair.
They have so many fun flavors to choose from.
We tried several, but I think key lime and the red velvet were my favorite.  And the chocolate ganache brownie was amazing too.

One day while we were hanging out at Grandma's she brought these photos out for me.
They were taken by a friend of mine, the summer of 1996, right before my Senior year of high school.  I was almost 17.

Grandma also brought me some of the zucchini she grew in her garden.
We laughed because I had to photograph it next to my face to accurately show how huge it was!
Brielle with us at the Protein Foundry.

Julie, Brielle, Brenda, Aunt Gail and I drove up to check out Park City.

And we had lunch at the Baja Cantina.  It was delicious!

Checking out the shops at Park City.
After we got back from Park City, Mom, Brenda, Aunt Gail, my friend Crystal and I drove up into Mill Creek Canyon to have dinner at the famous Log Haven Restaurant.

Crystal and I while we waited for our table.  We were a little early for our reservation.
It was such a beautiful place to eat and enjoy everyone's company.
We ordered roll service and appetizers. Their rolls are delicious and the truffle butter was so good and then Crystal and I share the filet mignon.  By the time our meal came we were so full we only took a few bites and took the rest home.  It was all delicious!
