Remembering Karson

 October 21, 2012 - On our way back home from Arizona, we drove through Flagstaff to pay a visit to Joshua's son Karson's grave.  

For those of you who know Joshua well, you know that Karson died very tragically just over 7 years ago, at the age of 10 months.  After his death, Joshua had his oldest son Kaden, who was 2 at the time, living with him full-time.  I met Joshua nearly 6 months later, when we started emailing for the first time.  The loss of his son has been an extremely difficult experience for Joshua and not one that he openly speaks of.  However, Karson has deeply impacted our lives and is a part of our family.  He will always be remembered and because of the blessing of forever families, we know that we will one day see him again.  Karson was born just 2 days after my sister's daughter, Ashlyn, so when I see her I always think of him.  He would have been 8 years old this year.  --Although we cannot visit his grave often, we do so whenever we are passing through.  This is the first time we have taken all the boys.
