The Start of Our Remodel

The Kitchen
The home we bought was originally built in 1956.  And I believe that not much in the house had been altered since that time.   Here is the original kitchen, as it looked just before we moved in.

Below are pictures from the various stages, while Josh tore everything out, took it down to the studs and rebuilt it.  Also, Josh took out most of the wall between the kitchen and the living room (as seen in top photo), opening up the space allowing for more room to move around our kitchen table.
The picture above in the lower right hand corner is the stage the kitchen was in when the kids and I moved down.  When I arrived Josh's brother, Josie and I installed the drawers in all the lower cabinets.  And I drilled holes and attached all the knobs and handles.   --The tile turned out to be quite a hassle, taking the remodel far longer to complete than originally hoped.   (Problems such as: un-level floor, not enough tile, special ordering tile and the tile guys busted their saw while doing the job.)  But in the end, I'm happy with how the tile looks.
Below is the current state of our kitchen.  All that we have left to do is a little finish work, like painting and caulking the trim and painting the walls.  Someday we'll get to that, but for the time being, we have a fully functioning kitchen.  And I love the design!
