October 3, 2022:
Beautiful sunrise over Mt Hood.
October 6th: Walking with Annalei on Washougal River Greenway trail.
I love our sunset walks. We get to talk and enjoy the beautiful area where we live.
October 7, 2022: Kaden with Elder Ellsworth and their mission president in front of their new house in Santa Rosa de Lima.
A few years back Kaden told us that his dream was to move to the jungle and build a house off the land…and now his dream is a reality, he’s living in a village in the Guatemalan jungle! They eat simply, have cold water showers, wash their dishes in the pila outside and ride on a Tuk to wash their clothes at the laundromat. He is loving it and told us there isn’t anywhere in the world he’d rather be at this time in his life.
Kaden M. Owens shared a beautiful thought we could all benefit from remembering:
“Life's hard, and it's far too short to waste any of it hating, holding grudges, despising others, anything of the sort. Bad things happen, but there's always a positive. Always. Everyone perceives things differently, and this is ultimately what forms someone's individual reality. I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking to live a good life, built on positivity and hard work. Life is what you make it, so make it a good one.”
October 8th
We attended Rayme's baptism.
And then we all went out to Red Robin afterward.
October 9th
We went to dinner with the Wooden's and then over to see Julia's horse at the stables.
Paxton wanted to watch the Office and here he is imitating Dwight.
This is how Paxton often carries Tux down to bed, wrapped up in his bed like a taco, feet dangling out the back.
October 15th
The boys went exploring with Josh and then working on Versii's car.
Versii painting a sealant coat on the underside of his car.
October 20th
Josh's 42nd Birthday!
We ordered a German chocolate cake made by our friend Daya.
October 27th, Walking along Cottonwood Beach with Annalei.
October 29th: We sold the minivan and got a new car! A 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid
I love it! One of my favorite features is the heated steering wheel, because my hands are always cold.
