Versii's 12th Birthday!

May 23, 2019
Versii's 12th Birthday!
He was excited that the last late start of the year fell on his birthday morning.  And he wanted to have his friends Logan and Dathan over to eat dinner and hang out.
He chose french toast and sausage for dinner and chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

On a side note: Versii went on his first youth Temple trip on May 15th.  He loved it and said he can't wait to go again!

Versii's Twilight Meet

May 21st, 2019
Versii running the 100m 27" hurdles in the last track meet of the season: The Twilight meet at Liberty
His Personal Best Record for the Season:
20.54c on May 14th.

Happy 16th Birthday Kaden!

Happy 16th Birthday to our Kaden!
I can't believe we have a 16 year old!
And that he'll be taking his driver's test very soon!
He is such a smart young man and he's grown so tall, he's almost 6 foot tall now.
Naturally, he was upset that he birthday fell on a Monday this year, as he would have to be at school.  But he requested spaghetti and brownies for his birthday meal.

Here he is working on a popsicle house for his forensics class and us singing Happy Birthday to him.  He needed a popsicle house to burn during their unit on arson.  Everyone got into the building process.  Josh and Versii added some touches of their own.  Versii built the door and Josh wanted to add shingles.

Josh shared the following on FaceBook:
Kaden is 16! This is momentous, of course, as he now has wheels!  He is smart, thorough, calm, kind, soft spoken, and a very hard worker.  I am so proud of him.  Here he is admiring the perfect s'more.  He earned this car building an apartment.  Boy's got skills!
Kaden's 1st car!  A 2007 Toyota Scion.

Camping at Cove Palisades

May 16, 2019: On our way to camp in Culver, Oregon at Cove Palisades State Park with my brother Reed and Sakurako.
Blitz is not the best traveler these days.
He threw up in the back seat and needed lots of air.
Our site on the left and Reed's site on the right.
We love it best when our sites are side by side.

Cove Palisades Deschutes Campground is a beautiful!
We hiked around a bit, ate delicious food, spent some time napping and playing cards, the boys rode their bikes and we spent lots of time chatting and laughing around the fire.

The boys love to play in the hammock!
 Paxton dancing with Jubae.
 Visiting the waterfall.

Exploring the nature hike near Crooked River Camp ground.
Just after we finished our hike and were driving back to our campground, a huge rock came tumbling down the side of the cliff, at the exact moment we drove by.  Josh swerved in attempts to miss it, but it still managed to slam into the front bumper of his truck and fly back.  It was the craziest thing!  I barely saw it from the corner of my eye and I could hear a plink, plink, plink, boom!  It left quite a good sized dent in Josh's steel bumper.
Blitz loved Reed and Sakurako's dogs: Jerry and Jubae.
The day before we were planning to leave, the weather forecast showed rain.  So we packed up early and decided to get out before it started to pour.  We packed everything up, had delicious BBQ ribs that Reed had made for our lunch. Just as soon as we were almost done eating, the rain started...so we finished packing up and took off.
May 18th: On our way home, we took a detour up to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood.

It was so cold and windy up at the top...but beautiful views.

Beginning of May

May 2, 2019: Josh flew off to Utah for a quick weekend getaway.  He stayed with his buddy Matthew and they spent a lot of time golfing.

 Crystal and Penelope roasting marshmallows.

Norman, Matt and Josh golfing some more.
May 5th: Josh drove off to Grandma's and surprised her and Mom with a visit.  They spent some time laughing, visiting and playing card games together before he had to leave to fly back home.
May 4th: The boys worked hard to spread new bark dust in the yard!  I love the way a fresh coat of bark dust makes the yard look so sharp.

And I love when all my plants start blooming!
These little purple flowers are one of my favorites.

 Our bleeding heart.
 Our irises.

I love our lilac tress so much!  And it makes the backyard smell amazing!
May 9th: See if you can spot Versii?
This is a picture that was taken with their student teacher on her last day with their class. These are all pictures Versii's teachers posted.  It's fun to see him at school.
Versii and some of his classmates from his track team.

May 11th: Paxton at his Lacrosse game.
May 12th: Mother's Day.  Paxton made me the sweetest gifts.
Things Paxton loves about me...
1. You help me with Blitz
2. You help me put away laundry.
3. Your a great snuggler.
4. You help me remember.
5. You give me gifts.
He also made me a card, a crocheted bracelet and this sweet pot of paper flowers.

Versii gave his very first talk in Sacrament meeting at church on Mother's Day.  When I asked him what he got me for Mother's Day, he replied, "Mom, I wrote you a talk!"  He did a great job and it was so sweet.
