Vista House and Multnomah Falls with the Smiths

June 30, 2022

We took the Smiths to Vista House and Multnomah Falls.  

I think in an effort to limit the amount of people at Multnomah Falls at one time, they now require you to get buy a $2 permit for a reserved one hour time block, before you are allowed in.  Luckily they still had times available when we got there.

Versii had a Driver's Ed drive scheduled with his instructor, so Josh and Versii had to leave to get to his appointment just before Multnomah Falls.

Kurt and the boys made the hike up to the top of the falls.

Then we got ice cream cones.

When we were leaving the falls, a train was driving over the bridge.  You almost can't tell from the video, but it is deafeningly loud standing under a moving train!  

Josh's friend Matt flew in to town, last minute, and then he and Josh went out on the town for a bit.

One of their stops was a place called the Coffin Club.  

 

Cottonwood and Steigerwald with the Smiths

We took the Smith's to check out some local spots.  First stop was cottonwood beach.

When we got there, we found that the beach was almost entirely flooded.  We had so much rain this year!  So there wasn't much to see and no beach to play on.

Our second stop was Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge.

 

High Adventure 2022

June 27, 2022 

Josh, Versii and Paxton took off for 2 nights to High Adventure camp.

The first day they went white water rafting with guides.  

They said it was the best time and that the guides were really funny!

Josh and Paxton are on the boat with the guide wearing green.

June 28th: The boys hiked through an ice cave.
