PR Day 2: El Morro

November 5, 2021:
Julie and I got up went into Old San Juan to visit Castillo San Felipe del Morro a 16th century fort.

The lighthouse at El Morro is the most unique one I have ever seen in person.
I love the details and the color.

This is the Latrine, human and other waste deposited here was flushed into the sea through a sewer running under the courtyard.

The oldest walls inside the fort.

Imagine being stuck inside this drafty prison, open to the outside and filled with standing water.

Gorgeous views from the fort looking over the ocean.

El Morro' s prison, that was used until the 1880s.

Isle de Cabras, it housed the Fort of San Juan de la Cruz and was also used as a leprosy colony.
The chapel inside El Morro.
