Camping at Cove Palisades

May 16, 2019: On our way to camp in Culver, Oregon at Cove Palisades State Park with my brother Reed and Sakurako.
Blitz is not the best traveler these days.
He threw up in the back seat and needed lots of air.
Our site on the left and Reed's site on the right.
We love it best when our sites are side by side.
Paxton reveling in his perfectly roasted marshmallow.

Kaden with his perfectly roasted marshmallows and the "perfect s'more".

Cove Palisades Deschutes Campground is a beautiful!
We hiked around a bit, ate delicious food, spent some time napping and playing cards, the boys rode their bikes and we spent lots of time chatting and laughing around the fire.

The boys love to play in the hammock!
 Paxton dancing with Jubae.
 Visiting the waterfall.

Exploring the nature hike near Crooked River Camp ground.
Just after we finished our hike and were driving back to our campground, a huge rock came tumbling down the side of the cliff, at the exact moment we drove by.  Josh swerved in attempts to miss it, but it still managed to slam into the front bumper of his truck and fly back.  It was the craziest thing!  I barely saw it from the corner of my eye and I could hear a plink, plink, plink, boom!  It left quite a good sized dent in Josh's steel bumper.
Blitz loved Reed and Sakurako's dogs: Jerry and Jubae.
The day before we were planning to leave, the weather forecast showed rain.  So we packed up early and decided to get out before it started to pour.  We packed everything up, had delicious BBQ ribs that Reed had made for our lunch. Just as soon as we were almost done eating, the rain started...so we finished packing up and took off.
May 18th: On our way home, we took a detour up to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood.

It was so cold and windy up at the top...but beautiful views.
